Youth and Children's Team
Discipling our young members is an integral part of our mission at Lindley Park Baptist Church. We seek to provide exciting and life-changing experiences for our young folks that will shape them as thoughtful, active, and reverent Christians in the faith. We have several opportunities for youth and children that fill our church calendar. All activities are open to anyone who would like to join!
Youth & Young Adults (6-12th grade & young adults)
Connect 4 is a vibrant group of young adults who seek to connect with God in a deep and meaningful way by studying His word and actively applying His word through community projects, mission trips, and outreach. This group has delved into the word of the Lord through series of study including the legacy of King David and the book of Revelations. This group also has been a part of several outings including buying and delivering Christmas presents for local children, Cook-out nights, and Corn Maze outings.
Connect 4 also meets on Wednesday nights at 6:45pm in the upstairs youth room. This group engages in exciting discussions and activities based around an exciting series (recently we finished our Star Wars series and Lord of the Rings series). This group heavily focuses on outreach and consistently goes into the community through missions such as delivering snacks and drinks to folks in the waiting areas of hospitals (Cooler Ministry), providing clothes and necessities for the homeless people in the Downtown Greensboro area, engaging in fundraisers for local, national, and global charities, and going on an annual mission trip to an area of high need. Connect 4 seeks to provide a space in which young adults may come and feel accepted, feel invigorated by the spirit, and encouraged to step out into the world as disciples of Christ.
Agents for Christ
Children (K-5th grade)
Agents for Christ is a fantastic opportunity for the children of our church to gather together for exciting, Christ-filled events that always bring new understanding to God's word. Agents for Christ meets once a month during the worship service to participate in an event that is orchestrated by a group of adults on our Youth and Children's team. These events span from obstacle courses that teach Bible verses as the children work through each obstacle to visiting nursing homes and singing Christmas tunes for the residents!
Children also meet weekly for 9:45 Sunday School with Linda Vaughan and Kent Benfield, two of our most friendly deacons. The class learns about the Bible and participates in engaging activities each week. The children are then escorted to the children's pew where the children can sit with their friends and have play packs to look at during the service. Along with our regular services for the children, we have also had special events that regularly cater to our young folk including Trunk or Treat, Movie Night, and Children's Choir.
